Greetings! :) As part of the graduation requirements, for my Bachelor of Arts in Music, Voice Concentration, the following is “Domine Deus” from The Gloria by Vivaldi. It was the opening selection from my Senior Recital that took place on the campus of Allen University, in the Sons of Allen Chapel on April 28, 2016 @ 4:00 p.m. This was my very 1st Concert as a soloist in which I sang a full repertoire of music in its entirety. I owe CREDIT and THANKS to the aloooooot of individuals, both old and new, for their years of support during my matriculation at Allen University as I strived to make it to this moment. My Choir Director, Mr. Peter L. Felder passed away in the Spring of 2016....Thank you for telling me I had what it took to do great things, love and miss you so much Mr. Felder. :) Thank you so much to all of my friends and family who were in attendance: Father/Warren Haynes, Mother/Genola Haynes, Grandmother/Clara Haynes, Grandmother/Edna Martin, and Nephew Christian Haynes. To my siblings, Jim, Jeri and Josef…Your presence was missed but Daddy captured some moments that I hope you will now view and enjoy. I was humbled by the number of classmates who came to support me and offer their blessings and well wishes. Morgan Radley, Jalesa Weaver, Charles Peterson, your presence and love are appreciated and reciprocated. One A.U. Alumni even changed their flight plans in order to attend. Your voice, it is pure and unparalleled to none. But still, it holds no candle to your heart. And I’m prayerful that we will collaborate on a project in the days ahead. Jessika Doby, I just wanna say thank you again for flying in. Tremendous thank you to my Cast Mates Quavo, Nana, Brandi, Lil Sam aka Travis and Mrs. Campbell and Director, Charles Brooks of the "Raisin In the Sun" Production for attending. Thank you to the entire Music Department: (My amazing Voice Instructor) Mrs. Ginger Jones-Robinson, (Music Dept. Chairman aka "TOUGH Love") Dr. Alvoy Bryan, (Exquisite Piano Instructor) Dr. Vincent Della-Tonia, (Professor/Trumpet Virtuoso) Kenneth Green. Special thanks to President Dr. Lady June Cole, Vice President of Academic Affairs, Dr. Charlene Spearen, University Chaplin Reverend Thomas, and Class of 2016 Salutatorian, Thurmond Murchinson for making a surprise appearance. And to Samuel Isaiah Campbell… Thank you for being there to root me on! I love you and when it’s your time to graduate you can bet I’ll be there front and center. Lastly, but certainly not least to Danielle Holback. We started together and we finished together. But most importantly, I look forward to the new beginnings ahead of us. Thank you for your friendship, fellowship and sisterhood. Girl, I couldn’t be more proud of you. Not only did you graduate Suma Cum Laude, but you did it all while being the President of the Voices of Praise Choir and maintaining a 4.0 I really wish I could have made it to your final concert. I know you did amazing and will continue to do amazing things. Love you sis.
