Here is Koko Taylor in a live performance of her signature blues hit: “Wang Dang Doodle". She recorded it for Checker Records in early 1966. It quickly became a huge hit, reaching #4 on the Billboard R&B chart and #58 on the Billboard Top 100 Pop chart. In 1995, Koko Taylor's recording was inducted into the Blues Foundation Hall of Fame in the "Classics of Blues Recording – Singles or Album Tracks" category. The Foundation noted that the song was the last blues single produced by Willie Dixon to reach the record charts, and became Koko Taylor's signature crowd-pleaser, inspiring singalongs to the “all night long” refrain night after night every time she performed it live. Koko Taylor (born Cora Anna Walton, September 28, 1928 – June 3, 2009) [aged 80 years] was an American singer whose style encompassed Chicago blues, electric blues, rhythm and blues and soul blues. Sometimes called "The Queen of the Blues", she was known for her rough, powerful vocals. The moment I saw this video, I had to do a MONO-to-STEREO conversion of it! Technical Information: I used SPLEETER v2.6 to separate the components [Vocal, Drums, Bass & Guitar/Harmonica] into 4 separate tracks. Adobe Audition was used for Dynamic Range restoration, EQ and final mixdown. NERO 2019 Platinum used to generate the final video. Enjoy my MONO-to-STEREO conversion of this classic and historic live performance by Koko Taylor at "The American Folk Blues Festival 1967" as she sings her signature 1966 mega-hit: “Wang Dang Doodle” A shout out to my good friend, John VanBroekhoven, for turning me on to this great blues artist!
