Hossein Alizadeh is one of Iran's leading classical composers and musicians. A virtuosic player of the six-stringed Persian tar, four-stringed Persian sehtar and eleven-stringed Azeri tar, Alizadeh has continued to extend the musical traditions of his homeland. Djivan Gasparyan is recognized as the most accomplished and influential musician in the history of the duduk. But more than a musician, he is an icon, a living embodiment of the history of Armenian traditional folk music.
About Djivan Gasparyan
Djivan Gasparyan was an Armenian musician and composer. He played the duduk, a double reed woodwind instrument related to the orchestral oboe. Gasparyan is known as the "Master of the duduk". In 2006 he was nominated for Grammy Awards for the Best Traditional World Music Album.
