hyperpop TMBG cover, taken from 'Various Artists Sing the Album, "Flood"' "It's a tribute record for 2020! To celebrate They Might Be Giants' Flood turning 30, bands, comedians, solo artists, and general noise makers from Seattle to Brooklyn have covered all 19 songs to benefit the Climate Justice Alliance. We got acoustic numbers, marimbas, electronic dins, shredding, and jazz interludes to pay tribute to a truly idiosyncratic and influential band. A few songs will be released every Friday until June 26th, when the full album will be available. All proceeds made from the digital-only release will be going to the Climate Justice Alliance, a collaborative,"rooted in Indigenous, African American, Latino, Asian Pacific Islander, and working-class white communities throughout the U.S. [looking to] strengthen relationships between community-based organizations, environmentalists, labor unions, food sovereignty/sustainable agriculture groups and other sectors of society [and] build thriving economies that provide dignified, productive and ecologically sustainable livelihoods; democratic governance and ecological resilience." That's all taken from their website here: climatejusticealliance.org . All musicians have donated their creative labor for this album -- thank 'em as well!
