Music from AUTotrophy by 12+ (Giacomo Cioni) Video by Francesco Dejaco 12+ is a solo project by Giacomo Cioni on his MPC sampler. Giacomo Cioni comes from a Hip Hop background, both as beatmaker and rapper, bringing later the art of sampling to other kinds of music. “AUTotrophy” is a work born from his collaboration with our label. He as a collaborator of us had the opportunity of digging in our catalogue. Cutting the unusual sonorities of the first 14 published records and discovering hidden intuitions, he gave them new meanings in 13 sampledelic and obsessive electro-hip hop tracks. The project was presented first in Berlin during the AUT FEST in 2014 and from that point on Giacomo developed his concept based on “transformation” as conceived in different cultural and scientific fields. Transformation, shift, change, metamorphosis are all key words in today’s most interesting social and scientific debate. For all the fans of Aut Records, this is a great opportunity to listen to a good part of the catalogue as you never imaged before and for all the newcomers it’s definitely a good way to be acquainted with us.
