The late great John Jackson filmed in Germany in Oct 1969 for the American Folk Blues Festival. He moved to Fairfax, Virginia, in his twenties, where he worked as a gravedigger, among other jobs. His first recordings were released in the early 1960s by Arhoolie Records. He visited Europe several times, played at folk music festivals, and also recorded for Rounder Records and Alligator Records. Chicago bluesman. Born February 14, 1937 in Grenada, Mississippi, died December 1, 1969 in Chicago. Released his first record, "All Your Love" on the Cobra label in 1957. Best known for his distinctive tremolo guitar playing. See also the Magic Sam Blues Band.
