System of a Down
2000s2002SoloRareyoutube

Very strange (and rare) show of System Of A Down from February 22nd, 2002 at Deltaplex in Grand Rapids, MI. Something/someone must have pissed off System Of A Down guitarist Daron Malakian because he played the entire first half of the show nearly motionless, standing on his platform with his back to the audience. He left the stage entirely for his guitar solo during "Psycho", only returning to sing backing vocals for "Chop Suey!". He remained off stage for "Honey", "Bounce" and after the intermission, "Spiders". It is unknown if he returned to the stage at all for the second half of the show. R.E.M. was noted for Buck's arpeggiated "jangle" guitar playing; Stipe's distinctive vocal style, unique stage presence, and cryptic lyrics; Mills's countermelodic bass lines and backing vocals; and Berry's tight, economical drumming. In the early 1990s, other alternative rock acts suc...
