Thomas Scott Pearce's recording of "Honky Tonk Hallucinations" is the final recording I produced for Scott and is probably my favorite track among those I produced for him that featured session accompaniment, Appearing on this version are founding members of The Silverwings Don and Dean Sauls and Drummer, Sammy McCoy. Ov'e Swinson (from just down the road outside of Falkland) and myself contributed (or attempted) the piano/keyboard riffs, Session Notes: (of little interest to readers other than Music Production Professionals)., Like our collective attitudes that evening "Honky Tonk" accurately reflected everyone's simple pleasures in patricipating in an impromptu studio jam session (usually held late at night). We were all by this time comfortable around one another as we had all collaborated, contributed and participated on projects together with relationships extending beyond the business boundariess of client - artist and aspiring artist to aspiring artist, Hell I consider these guys "'friends with blends" reflecting back upon the synergy that created the comaraderie among ourselves that resulted in"Honky Tonk Halucinations" This sort of rare "tongue-n-cheek", self amusing interaction and creativity was inevitable as we indulged our collective red neck sensibilities and fondness for twang. For example, just listen to Scott's performance on the vocals lines at the tail end of the second verse. This "campy" yet brilliant delivery was his return jab at one of our comments about some of his vocals sounding a little like John Connaly doing an impersonation of George Jones, Does he nail that or what? As was the case with most of Scott's sessions we never really knew in advance exactly what we were going to do beyond enjoy ourselves and make music together that we enjoyed. So maybe it turns out a little loose, un refined and unpretentious. This rough mix of this track (never heard outside of the studio walls) originates from a "session log" cassette recording made during playback and is not considered a mastered/finished recording..
