I just used random pictures to make a video for this song. Dec. 11, 2008 - I purchased this song from the iTunes store, I simply opened iTunes, clicked iTunes Store in the left pane, typed in the search bar at the top of iTunes "Best I'll Ever Be Acoustic" (without the quotes). It was the only item listed. http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/best-ill-ever-be-acoustic/id19441062?i=19441085 Artist: Sister Hazel Name: Best I'll Ever Be (Acoustic Version) Album: Chasing Daylight - Acoustic EP (If you are too cheap to pay $1.29US for this song, you must not like it that much, do not ask me where you can get this song free.) EDIT: It has come to my attention that this song is not available through iTunes in all countries around the world (apparently it is only available in the U.S.). Unfortunately there is nothing I can do personally to help you obtain this music, as I am in the U.S. and distribution of copyrighted music is illegal. Please do not ask me to send you a copy of this song, I will completely ignore any and all requests to do such.

About This Footage

In 2008, Sister Hazel was at a crossroads. Their 1997 single "All for You" had long since faded from the charts, but they were still clinging to their Southern rock sound. The band's Gainesville roots were evident in their music, but they were also experimenting with new styles, incorporating elements of folk and classic rock into their sound.

This rare piano acoustic clip, "Best I'll Ever Be," is a testament to Sister Hazel's ability to adapt and evolve. Filmed in 2008, the year before the release of their album Chasing Daylight, this intimate performance showcases the band's softer side. The stripped-down arrangement highlights lead vocalist Ken Block's emotive vocals and the piano work of Mark Mulcahy.

What makes this clip truly remarkable is its rarity. Sister Hazel was never a household name, but they maintained a loyal fan base throughout their career. This acoustic version of "Best I'll Ever Be" is one of the few times the band has been captured in such an intimate setting. The video's creator, who uploaded it to YouTube in 2008, notes that the song was only available on iTunes at the time.

The clip's humble origins are a far cry from the polished production values of most modern music videos. The use of random images and the DIY aesthetic of the upload process add to the clip's charm. It's clear that the creator is more interested in sharing Sister Hazel's music with fans than in producing a high-end video.

Watching "Best I'll Ever Be" (Acoustic Version) is like stepping into a time capsule. The band's sound has aged remarkably well, and this performance is a testament to their ability to craft memorable melodies and singable choruses. Even if you're not familiar with Sister Hazel's music, this clip will give you a sense of the band's soulful, rootsy sound.

The fact that this clip was uploaded by an individual fan rather than the band themselves adds to its significance. It's a reminder that even in the age of social media and streaming services, fans are still finding ways to share and discover new music. The creator's warning about not being able to provide free downloads of the song may seem quaint now, but it highlights the complexities of music distribution in 2008.

As you watch Sister Hazel perform "Best I'll Ever Be" (Acoustic Version), pay attention to Ken Block's voice and Mark Mulcahy's piano work. The way they trade off vocals and create a sense of space is a hallmark of the band's sound. Even in this stripped-down arrangement, Sister Hazel's music has a way of getting under your skin.

The clip ends with a simple shot of the album artwork for Chasing Daylight - Acoustic EP. It's a fitting conclusion to a performance that feels both intimate and expansive. Watching "Best I'll Ever Be" (Acoustic Version) is like experiencing Sister Hazel's music in its purest form – raw, emotive, and unforgettable.
