I install the Focus MK3 RS exhaust tunnel 4 point brace from SUMMIT! This Asian brand is synonymous with quality and eye catching chassis and body bracing / stiffening and the Focus MK3 RS exhaust tunnel 4 point brace is no different! Featuring a beautiful orange sparkle paint job, this BIG 4 point sub frame tunnel brace makes the Ford Focus RS under body really pop (especially in combination with my other Summit braces - see below for links!) and looks so much different than stock while also being extra strong and rigid, connecting together parts of the front chassis and sub frame and will aid in the reduction of body roll / chassis flex by joining the 2 sides of the car together meaning I will be able to push harder, especially in cornering! This benefit will be felt in aiding handling characteristics without the need for using the hard suspension mode which is a real bonus as it can feel very bouncy on public roads. Summit / Swave offer a different, smaller tunnel brace but this only fits with the standard RS exhaust as it bolts on where the 'pancake' section of the exhaust is located and since I have an aftermarket Mountune exhaust on my Focus RS which removes the pancake section while also increasing the bore size of the piping, this smaller brace wouldn't work. This is where the newer big tunnel brace works so well - fully clears aftermarket exhausts while also being much bigger and chunkier providing more performance over a larger area! This Focus MK3 RS exhaust tunnel 4 point brace will, in particular, compliment the multiple front lower chassis to subframe braces also from Summit that I installed on my MK3 Focus RS, sitting just behind them! The Focus MK3 RS exhaust tunnel 4 point brace from Summit is made from 6061 forged aluminium and features 4 distinct lengths of tubing made with a special tubular inner design which means that it is not only super strong but also much lighter than any other such product on the market! I show the process of how to install the Focus MK3 RS exhaust tunnel 4 point brace onto my Ford Focus RS which is reasonably simple, just 4 small bolts off and on again, and can be done on your driveway with only a basic tool set needed! The kit comes with brand new longer bolts for the 2 furthest back corners along with matching washers. The build up of the washers is explained in the video! This latest brace from Summit really completes the under side of my Focus RS by logically linking the front and rear, being more of a mid brace, and indeed is the last Summit brace to go onto the bottom on the RS! I do have more Summit (and Whiteline) handling upgrades to come so watch this space! Recommended tools for the install are: - 10mm sockets to loosen and tighten bolts - regular and deep - 3/8 " ratchet - Torque wrench - medium strength / blue thread locker (I use JB Weld for this install!)
