Live At London Thames Poly 16th March 1985. This is quite possibly the first time "Past" was ever played, and has a fair few differences to the final version. Firstly, it replaced the ultimately unreleased "The Police Have All The Time In The World" in the group's setlist, and the middle 8 contains a near-identical line to one in that song: "Young Irish girl, clueless, educated by those nuns". This was changed to "Into the past she ran, under-schooled & underfed" soon after - the next performance of Past I have is from two weeks later (the 29th March 1985 London Marquee show) and already has these lines. There are a few minor differences such as no "and the papers always say". More immediately apparent is that the song starts cold on the first verse and lacks the prominent bassline and features much less guitar. There is prominent organ as was the lead instrument in several early arrangements of Clock songs.
