#Evanescence #Whisper #Live In #Paris #Bercy #AnywhereButHome #Fallen Era 🌌 🌌🌌 [Verse 1:] Catch me as I fall Say you're here and it's all over now Speaking to the atmosphere No one's here and I fall into myself This truth drives me Into madness I know I can stop the pain If I will it all away If I will it all away [Chorus:] Don't turn away (Don't give in to the pain) Don't try to hide (Though they're screaming your name) Don't close your eyes (God knows what lies behind them) Don't turn out the light (Never sleep, never die) [Verse 2:] I'm frightened by what I see But somehow I know That there's much more to come Immobilized by my fear And soon to be Blinded by tears I can stop the pain If I will it all away If I will it all away [Chorus:] Don't turn away (Don't give in to the pain) Don't try to hide (Though they're screaming your name) Don't close your eyes (God knows what lies behind them) Don't turn out the light (Never sleep, never die) [Verse 3:] Fallen angels at my feet Whispered voices at my ear Death before my eyes Lying next to me I fear She beckons me Shall I give in? Upon my end shall I begin Forsaking all I've fallen for I rise to meet the end (I rise to meet the end) [Chorus:] Don't turn away (Don't give in to the pain) Don't try to hide (Though they're screaming your name) Don't close your eyes (God knows what lies behind them) Don't turn out the light (Never sleep, never die) [Chorus:] Don't turn away (Don't give in to the pain) Don't try to hide (Though they're screaming your name) Don't close your eyes (God knows what lies behind them) Don't turn out the light (Never sleep, never die) [Chorus:] Don't turn away (Servatis a periculum) (Don't give in to the pain) Don't try to hide (Servatis a maleficum) (Though they're screaming your name) Don't close your eyes (Servatis a periculum) (God knows what lies behind them) Don't turn out the light (Servatis a maleficum) (Never sleep, never die) Don't turn away (Servatis a periculum) (Don't give in to the pain) Don't try to hide (Servatis a maleficum) (Though they're screaming your name) Don't close your eyes (Servatis a periculum) (God knows what lies behind them) Don't turn out the light (Servatis a maleficum) (Never sleep, never die) [Outro:] Servatis a periculum Servatis a maleficum Servatis a periculum Servatis a maleficum Servatis a periculum Servatis a maleficum Servatis a periculum Servatis a maleficum Servatis a periculum Servatis a maleficum Servatis a periculum Servatis a maleficum Servatis a periculum Servatis a-maleficum First released on Evanescence’s second EP in 1999, “Whisper” has gone through a lot of changes throughout its seven released versions. Here, it serves as the album closer for Fallen. In this version released on the band’s debut album, there’s a choir singing “Servatis a periculum, servatis a maleficum” at the end, which is roughly translated from Latin as “Save us from danger, save us from evil. What have the artists said about the song? On a EvClub interview, Amy Lee said: ‘Whisper’ is something that we still play on stage a lot and I love playing it, it’s a great live song. But lyrically it doesn’t hold a ton of meaning for me anymore ‘cause I’m not really at a very dark place in my life at all right now. I’m at a pretty positive place. So unless I’m really angry, I don’t totally relate to ‘Whisper’.
