Although they’re from the opposite end of the country, New Jersey’s Maranatha has that same long-haired home-grown west-coast guitar psych sound as Spokane’s Wilson McKinley. In fact I might go so far as to say that Soon is on equal footing with the classic Spirit Of Elijah — it’s that good. Guitarist Charlie Rizzo would later emerge with the more Southern-edged Ernrnaus Road Band, but here the style seems much more garage angled and hippie jamming
