Kurt Baker "Keep Away" from the Wicked Cool Records release "The Lost Weekend EP". “This EP kinda came about as a way to cleanse the palate in preparation for the upcoming new Kurt Baker Combo full-length next year. We had a few tracks that hadn't been released, like ‘Bad Boy,’ and some rare tracks that needed to be released on the digital format. To fill it out, I dug around and found some more rare and unreleased tracks and next thing ya know you've got yourself a proper EP, would you just look at that! You've got a nod to the mythical lost weekend of John Lennon, and I guess the truth is that in both bands that recorded the bulk of tracks for this EP, the Combo and the Party Animals, we've always liked to have fun. And party…a lot. So, sometimes things get a little fuzzy. Sometimes it feels like one long weekend. These tracks were lost, but now they are here on this EP. Together and joined in perfect wild and rockin’ harmony!” - Kurt Baker Following quick on the heels of Kurt Baker Combo’s Wicked Cool Records debut In Orbit in 2016, The Lost Weekend EP finds the freewheelin’ Kurt and a variety of cohorts rocking out with all the looseness and fun you’d expect while roaming from one party to the next. With a mix of new recordings and rare tracks previously available only on vinyl, this whiplash-inducing seven-song joyride features five Kurt originals plus clutch covers of “(What’s So Funny ’Bout) Peace, Love And Understanding” — the Nick Lowe song Elvis Costello turned into a signature tune — as well as the Larry Williams R&B classic which John Lennon memorably shouted to classic status with The Beatles, “Bad Boy.” * The single “Girls Got Money” will be featured as “The Coolest Song In The World” on Little Steven’s nationally syndicated radio program and SiriusXM channel, Little Steven’s Underground Garage beginning the week of EP release on September 22. * This EP bridges the time between 2016’s In Orbit and the next Kurt Baker Combo full-length album due in 2018.
