@FionaBoyesMusic New friends, fine musicians, an intimate club, great audience, one night only - and NO REHEARSAL! Sippie Wallace's song 'Women Be Wise' is a cornerstone of the Classic Era women's Blues repertoire. This version, recorded live at Blue Note West Club in Atlanta, Georgia, is from my 'Live in Atlanta' album, released March 31, 2004. I was touring on the back of my win at the prestigious International Blues Challenge in Memphis and this one-off show was recorded near the end of an intense 3 month tour. It was a little bit crazy, but we captured this single night's live performance... Musicians: 'Kaz' Kazanoff from the legendary Texas Horns on saxophone Fiona Boyes - electric guitar/vocals Gina Leigh on piano and sharing sassy vocal duties! John McKnight (drums) and Jon Schwenke (bass) who, along with Gina, were all members of Atlanta band 'Delta Moon'. I originally met 'Delta Moon' at the IBC competition, in Memphis. These guys won the Band category of the competition in 2003, the same year that I won the Solo/Duo category.
