About This Footage

The unassuming interview with Shaun Morgan of Seether, conducted in 2015 by hardDrive Online's producer Roxy, is a poignant reminder of the artist's unwavering commitment to raising awareness about mental health and suicide prevention. As one of the most recognizable voices in contemporary rock music, Morgan's willingness to speak candidly about his own struggles and those of others is a testament to the band's enduring impact on their fans.

At the time of this interview, Seether was riding high on the success of their sixth studio album, "Poison the Parish", which had been released earlier that year. The album marked a significant creative shift for the band, as they began to explore more introspective and emotionally charged themes in their music. Morgan's vocals, always a hallmark of the band's sound, took center stage on tracks like "Words As Weapons" and "Rise Above This", showcasing his ability to convey vulnerability and intensity with equal ease.

The Rise Above Fest, which Morgan discusses at length during this interview, was a charity event held in 2015 to raise awareness about mental health issues and support those affected by them. The festival featured performances from various bands, including Seether, and raised crucial funds for organizations dedicated to suicide prevention and support. Morgan's involvement with the festival reflects his long-standing commitment to using his platform to promote positivity and understanding.

The conversation also touches on the tragic loss of Chester Bennington, who passed away in 2017 but was still a prominent figure in the music world at the time of this interview. Morgan's words offer a poignant tribute to Bennington's legacy, highlighting the importance of mental health support and the need for open discussions about these issues.

What makes this footage so rare and significant is its candid portrayal of Morgan's thoughts on mental health, a topic that was often shrouded in stigma at the time. The interview's relaxed atmosphere and lack of pretension allow Morgan to share his genuine concerns and experiences, making it an invaluable resource for fans and aspiring musicians alike.

As viewers watch this 15:56 clip, they will be struck by Morgan's sincerity and vulnerability as he discusses some of the most pressing issues facing the music community. His words serve as a powerful reminder that mental health is just as important as physical well-being, and that seeking help is never a sign of weakness. The interview also highlights the importance of events like Rise Above Fest in raising awareness and providing support for those affected by mental illness.

Ultimately, this footage stands as a testament to Shaun Morgan's dedication to using his platform for good, and serves as a powerful reminder of the impact that music can have on our lives. As Seether continues to create and perform, their message of hope and resilience remains an essential part of their enduring legacy.
