Original line-up of superb, unique,Welsh Rock Band Budgie, featuring Burke Shelley Bass and Lead vocals, Tony Bourge, Lead Guitar, and Ray Phillips Drums. BREADFAN Originally written and performed by Budgie (Recorded in 1973) Words and music by Tony Bourge, Burke Shelley, and Ray Phillips Enjoy this rare and old treasure from 1973. Re-released on the new extended version CD "Never Turn Your Back On A Friend - 2004 and available from the bands official web site... http://www.budgie.uk.com/ NOTE :- For those who don't know, the story behind the video goes something like this... Budgie manager Graham Moloney had made repeated attempts to get Budgie on the Old Grey Whistle Test TV show, without luck. He said that the show's producer and director Mike Appleton and Colin Strong just didn't want to know. So Budgie did the Breadfan video independently in a London studio. A late technical problem with the filming of a Sly Stone concert meant Breadfan got played on OGWT on 24 July 1973. About 10 years ago. ex-Bandolier member Terry Cubberley bought a copy of the 18mm video tape of Breadfan on eBay. The tape had video but no sound. Terry sent the tape to ex-Budgie drummer Ray Phillips and Ray got someone he knew at BBC Wales to transfer the video from the deteriorating tape to digital media, and dub/sync the audio. Thanks to Terry and Ray, the video ended up on the Never Turn Your Back remaster on the band's label Noteworthy, and then on YouTube. Almost seven million views later this superb Classic by Budgie continues to command an ever increasing and well deserved Army of adoring fans the world over.

R.E.M. was noted for Buck's arpeggiated "jangle" guitar playing; Stipe's distinctive vocal style, unique stage presence, and cryptic lyrics; Mills's countermelodic bass lines and backing vocals; and Berry's tight, economical drumming. In the early 1990s, other alternative rock acts suc...
