Written by Hank Cochran and Jimmy Key, "I've Loved and Lost Again" was recorded by Patsy Cline first on June 1, 1955 at Bradley Studios, 804 16th Avenue South, Nashville TN as a promo for the Decca label, and again on January 5, 1956, April 22, 1956, November 8, 1956, and January 27, 1960, produced by Owen Bradley with Hank Garland and, Grady Martin on electric guitar, Jimmy Day on pedal steel guitar, Floyd Cramer piano, Bob Moore bass, Harold Bradley electric six string bass, and Buddy Harman on drums. As shown here over remastered studio recording produced by by DocRock1007, It was televised March 16, 1957 from CBS Studios, Los Angeles for "Western Ranch Party", produced by Bill Wagnon and directed by Irvin Atkins with Tex Ritter as master of ceremonies. The song is a lament about the pain of heartbreak, a powerful and moving ballad that showcases Cline's incredible vocal talent.. Patsy sings about how she has loved and lost many times before, and how she is starting to lose hope that she will ever find true love. She sings, "I've loved and lost again / Oh, what a crazy world we're living in / True love has no chance to win / I've loved and lost again." The song has stood the test of time and continues to be enjoyed by fans all over the world. Released on the album "A Legend", The song reached number one on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart and was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Female Country Vocal Performance in 1965. Garland Perry "Hank" Cochran was an American country music singer and songwriter. Starting during the 1960s, Cochran was a prolific songwriter in the genre, including major hits by Patsy Cline, Ray Price, Eddy Arnold, and others. Cochran was also a recording artist between 1962 and 1980, scoring seven times on the Billboard country music charts, with his greatest solo success being the number-20 "Sally Was a Good Old Girl." In 2014, he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
