#StoneTemplePilots #HelloItsLate #ScottWeiland This song was created in the purple era but it was published years after that, there are some complications to state the who is the subject of this song. Scott was married to Janina Castaneda and got divorced in the February, 2000, it is known that Scott was seeing Mary Forsberg already in the 98′ (year where Scott split up with Janina) and got married in May 20th, 2000. G: Your wife Mary is a model, and I heard you signed with her agency. Scott: Yeah, so we could do things together. There are a couple things being negotiated now. We’ve posed together for different photographers. Doing something together we’d make a lot more money than her doing something on her own. She doesn’t want to do this much longer. She can’t stand the modeling industry. It’s worse than the music industry. There aren’t any unions to protect models. G: You wrote “Wonderful” for her. Scott: Yeah, and “Hello It’s Late” was written after we had a really horrible argument. You can still have your heart broken when you’re in love with somebody and you’re living with them. Scott said that this song was created after a big argue with his wife (Mary) but the band said that the song was not published in Purple because they did not find a way to make it work until Shangri-La Dee Da album. There is people that thinks Scott took the song that talked about Janina and adapted it to Mary, but who really knows. There are barely audible background vocal on this part which is just Scott’s speaking voice. On the video version, the speaking voice supports the main vocal through the whole above mentioned section, but on the album version it stops after the words “But I’m just sittin’ on”. “This merry-go-round, And the music is too loud” is just the clear vocal. Scott sings the line “We’re married” two times after the first chorus of the video version and just once on the album version. Instrumental part between “We’re married” line and the second verse is twice longer on the video version. These version are completely different mixes. They feature completely different solos and endings. Scott sings “We’re married” line more times on the video version. Also, a different vocal effect was used, which made Scott sound softer and deeper on the video version. Which version is better in your opinion?

About This Footage

The 2001 footage of Stone Temple Pilots performing "Hello It's Late" in their Malibu house is a rare gem that offers a unique glimpse into the band's creative process during the Shangri-La Dee Da era. The clip, which has been uploaded to DeepCutsArchive in stunning 4K60 UHD resolution, captures the band's raw energy and chemistry as they perform one of their most beloved hits.

What makes this footage particularly interesting is the context surrounding the song's creation. According to Scott Weiland, the lead vocalist at the time, "Hello It's Late" was written after a heated argument with his wife Mary Forsberg. The song's lyrics are deeply personal and introspective, reflecting on the pain of a broken relationship. Weiland's vocals are emotive and heartfelt, conveying the emotional turmoil that he was experiencing.

The clip also highlights the band's ability to craft catchy, radio-friendly hits while still maintaining their edge and authenticity. "Hello It's Late" is a prime example of STP's unique sound, which blends elements of grunge, alternative rock, and psychedelia. The song's melody is infectious, with Weiland's soaring vocals and the band's driving rhythm section creating a sense of tension and release.

One of the most fascinating aspects of this footage is the behind-the-scenes glimpse it provides into the band's creative process. Weiland's comments about the song's creation offer insight into his personal life and relationships during that time period. The clip also raises questions about the authorship of the song, with some speculating that Weiland may have adapted lyrics from an earlier song about his ex-wife Janina Castaneda to fit Mary Forsberg.

The Malibu house setting adds a unique dimension to the footage, providing a glimpse into the band's relaxed and intimate atmosphere during this period. The clip is also notable for its 4K60 UHD resolution, which showcases the band's performance in stunning detail.

In terms of historical significance, this footage is a valuable addition to the STP archives. It provides a rare look at the band's creative process during a pivotal moment in their career and offers insight into Weiland's personal life and relationships during that time period. The clip is also a testament to the band's enduring legacy and influence on the alternative rock genre.

Overall, this 2001 footage of Stone Temple Pilots performing "Hello It's Late" is a must-see for fans of the band and anyone interested in the history of alternative rock. Its unique blend of personal insight, creative process, and high-quality production makes it a truly special addition to the DeepCutsArchive collection.
