Maahlas (2013) - drum tracking by Lucass
Greetings everyone! Me again :) This time I'd like to share with you something I've been working on earlier this year. The project is called Maahlas, it originally comes from Turkey, yet the headquarters is located in Oslo, Norway. The present footage contains a demo version of one of the 10 songs I was asked and honoured to track down. To record the entire LP was a hell of a job - definately the most demanding project I ever took part in: 7 full days (9-14h a day) of practice in order to learn all the parts... Plus 7 more days (8h a day) of work in a studio, 2 of which were fully used to set up the gear and find the right sound! The setup here was 6 toms, 2 bassdrums, a snaredrum and 19 cymbals!!! Tuning that monster kit was damn tedious to say the least :) All in all, the first mixes sound simply great; to me Maahlas is a rare, conscious project, one of its kind, worth paying attention to, exotic and extreme at the same time.
