The name Christopher Ward means a lot of different things in the world of Canadian music 🇨🇦 and he recently joined TRP to discuss it all …. His debut album in 1978 was a success and got him noticed as a formidable songwriter…. He was Canada’s first VJ, in the pre-MuchMusic days of Citytv’s weekend overnight music video show ‘City Limits’. He then went on to help popularize the music video format on the Nation's Music Station for most of the 80s… among his songs are two of this country's absolute best. “Beautiful Goodbye”, which he wrote for Amanda Marshall, and “Black Velvet”, the worldwide #1 song he wrote for 80’s Rock Diva Alannah Myles in 1989… he joined good friend Mike Myers in the semi-fictional Austin Powers band Ming Tea that gave us “BBC” and “Daddy Wasn’t There” and has most recently released a new solo record of reimagined versions of his hit songs and come full circle with his just re-released debut “Spark Of Desire”, all while hosting his own weekly Podcast … Christopher Ward is this week's Classic Canadian 🇨🇦
