The Asteroids Galaxy Tour performing their song "The Golden Age" live for Cardinal Sessions in Cologne. When playing live, The Asteroids Galaxy Tour usually acts as a six-piece. But the project was mainly started by the danish singer Mette Lindberg and producer Lars Iversen who already teamed up in 2008. Together they explore such musical genres as jazz, pop or even psychedelic pop. Even before they released their debut album "Fruit" almost four years ago, Amy Winehouse listened to their demo recording and was so thrilled that she asked them to be her support act when she played a concert in Copenhagen. On January 31st, their new record "Out Of Frequency" will be released in Germany and hopefully will bring them even more attention - they deserve it! On a press visit to Cologne in January, Mette Lindberg und guitarist Mikkel Baltser played their song "Heart Attack" in a special acoustic version for Cardinal Sessions. They challenge the classic music video and try to replace impersonal footage with immediate and emotional snapshots. Bands from all over the world with their different genres present their songs reduced to the essence of the musical spectrum - only vocals and unplugged instruments. Due to the spontaneous live-aspect and the approach to record every song without any additional rehearsal, songs emerge that often sound significantly different to their album versions. We film on locations that the musicians mostly choose by themselves: remote places, frequented streets, parks, woods, fields, bars; nothing is impossible. We have accomplished our goal if the location fits well to the background of the music we and the artists want to present. But our most important purpose is that there are no borders: we film everything that we like, no matter how popular, famous or also unknown a band might be. It is still important for us to support local talents and it will always stay part of our concept. The Cardinal Sessions team can also be booked: for example to film short documentaries of album recordings, studio recordings or live concert moments that you want to capture. R.E.M. was an American rock band formed in Athens, Georgia, in 1980 by drummer Bill Berry, guitarist Peter Buck, bassist Mike Mills, and lead vocalist Michael Stipe, who were students at the University of Georgia. R.E.M. was noted for Buck's arpeggiated "jangle" guitar playing; Stipe's distinctive vocal style, unique stage presence, and cryptic lyrics; Mills's countermelodic bass lines and backing vocals; and Berry's tight, economical drumming. In the early 1990s, other alternative rock acts suc...
