1974. Geraldo Rivera on his Good Night America news program talks to Billy Joe Thomas about coping with success, and his rocky road so far. This interview largely centers on the role of drugs in the music industry and his career personally. "...I couldn't stand it anymore, it was like the fourth day of the booking and I was already up to 50 pills." "Ambars, Opadrine..any kind I could get." Mr. Thomas talks about how he started singing not long after age 15, and being tired, a producer said here take one of these, you'll feel great. Sure enough he felt great but the ensuing addiction was nearly fatal. B.J. Thomas whom passed away in 2021.
