The Breeders - When I Was A Painter + Iris (Snub TV) February 1990
The Breeders filmed by Snub TV in January 1990 during the recording of their debut album 'Pod', which was released on 4AD Records on 29 May 1990. The tracks featured are 'When I Was A Painter' (incorrectly titled 'If I Were A Painter') and 'Iris', together with a short interview with the band (but mostly Kim). This early line-up featured Kim Deal of the Pixies, Tanya Donelly of Throwing Muses, Josephine Wiggs of the Perfect Disaster and Britt Walford of Slint (under the pseudonym Shannon Doughton). This was prior to Kim's twin sister, Kelley, joining the band and Tanya leaving to form her own band Belly. This was filmed at Palladium studio in Edinburgh, Scotland during the recording of the album which was engineered/produced by Steve Albini. Originally broadcast on 'Snub TV' on British TV on 12 February 1990.
