The song was written by Lindsey with Brett James & Gordie Sampson. Lindsey is an award-winning country songwriter, who earned a Grammy for the song "Jesus, Take The Wheel," recorded by Carrie Underwood, and another in 2020 for "I'll Never Love Again" from A Star Is Born. She also received a Best Original Song Academy Award for "Coming Home," recorded by Gwyneth Paltrow in the soundtrack to the movie Country Strong.
