NOTES ARE IN DESCRIPTION Dexter Holland is the leadsinger of The Offspring. Being a punksinger he often has a screamy style of singing, resulting in a lot of high notes. Low notes are extremely rare in Offspring songs so there won't be too many of them in this video. He is not the world's greatest singer, but has done some impressive highs, using the power in his voice. So here are the notes, starting with his lows: 0:00 Opening of (Can't get my) Head around you with a couple E3's. After this he takes the whole melody up an octave. 0:12 'I wanna be sedated', maybe the only Offspring song without upper 4th octave notes. Here some short E3's. 0:26 Low singing (In Offspring terms) in 'Pay the man', with a lot of strong D3's 0:48 Very quick spoken C3 from 'One hundred punks' 0:54 Strong C#3's from the song 'Fix you', one of the few softer songs by The Offspring. This section opens with a very short B2. 1:19 Another soft song, this time from the album Days go by. D#3's throughout the verse and a short but noticable G#2 at 1:34. Song is 'All I have left is you'. 1:41 A lot of strong B2's from 'A lot like me'. There are also 2 short F#2's, the most noticable at 2:06, his lowest sung notes. He hits some amazing B4's right after. 2:25 Spoken F2 from an interview. F2 is at 'work TO DO'. Moving on to his more famous high notes: 2:34 Sustained Bb4's from the song 'The kids aren't alright'. 2:52 Very impressive singing from 'Denial, revisited'. He hits Bb4's over and over again for almost a minute. 3:34 Chorus of 'LAPD', being B4's and B4's only. 3:44 Another popular song: 'Hit that'. Good B4's in the chorus. 3:59 Strained B4's from (Can't get my) Head around you 4:12 Very melodic B4's from 'Million miles away'. Very good singing imo. 4:34 Long streak of intense B4's from the song 'No Brakes'. 4:52 Insane screaming from 'Da hui'. Dexter hits a lot of B4's and one C5. 5:09 Very high melodic singing from 'Half-truism'. The whole song is filled with B4's and C5's in the chorusses, very impressive. 5:24 Screamy C5's from 'Original Prankster' 5:55 Famous C5's from 'You're gonna go far kid'. He has a lot of trouble doing these live. 6:11 Very good C5's from 'Spare me the details' 6:36 Nice sustained Bb4's and extremely strained C5's from 'Living in chaos'. 6:57 Incredible singing from 'Gone away' with sustained C5's. 7:19 Another note that has been a pain for him live. The final C5 from 'Why don't you get a job'. He even quickly touches C#5. 7:34 Screamed but controlled C#5's from 'She's got issues'. You can here he doesn't like going above C5 too much. 7:58 Extremely powerful C#5's from 'Hammerhead'. One of my personal favourite vocal moments by him. 8:32 More high singing, this time from 'Bad habit'. Starting with some clean C5's, the screams after that top at D5. 9:09 Their most popular song 'Pretty fly'. The high yelps at the start top at D5 or maybe D#5 and are probably not 100% full. The scream after the bridge is a nice D5 though. 9:35 Impressive D5 from 'Sin city', his highest sung note. Also wild falsetto E5's after. 10:01 Amazing high singing with C5's at the chorus of 'Me and my old lady'. Falsetto E5 after that and pushing towards D5 on the final line. 10:47 More sung D5's from 'I choose'. The final chorus has amazing C5's and screamed D#5 in the background. 11:25 Quick screamed D#5's from 'Worst hangover ever' 11:37 Wild scream from 'Cool to hate' topping at D#5 11:47 More random screaming from 'Long way home' also topping at D#5 12:00 Sick scream to E5 from 'I got a right' 12:11 Insane screaming from 'Session' with amazing D5's and an F5, his highest full note. 12:24 Maybe his most powerful scream, from 'Americana'. Also tops at F5. 12:36 Good B4's and a streak of falsetto E5's from 'Pay the man'. 12:56 Falsetto scream up to G5 from 'She's got issues' 13:07 Wild falsetto screaming up to F#5 and A5, his highest note, from the song 'Smash it up'. Edit: The yelps from 'Pretty fly' actually top at E5 There's also a full E5 in 'Pay the man' and the E5's in Sin City are also full.
