I Haven't Told Her, She Hasn't Told Me | Sing-song with Martin Carthy
A little snippet from a very special evening. Last weekend I visited Martin Carthy at his home in Robin Hood's Bay, and — as evenings with Martin tend to go — we ended up having a sing-song. This is a brief moment from that, the two of us falling into "I Haven't Told Her, She Hasn't Told Me" — a Peter Sellers song I learned from Graham Coxon, who'd picked it up from Martin himself ten or fifteen years ago. Graham and I have been singing it together on the recent Songs of Martin Carthy tour, and it was a real joy to bring it back to its source. It also reminded me of the wonderful backstage singsongs on our 2023 tour together. There's a beautiful recording of Martin singing it with Dave Swarbrick back in the 60s elsewhere on YouTube too — well worth tracking down.
