Her repertoire consists of carefully selected jazz, pop and blues tunes, which she delivers with her trademark wide ranging emotions and charismatic stage presence. Miss Varcho is a featured artist at the top jazz clubs in Northeast Ohio and has opened for national artists Kim Waters, Boney James and Kenny Rankin. Since 2001, she has performed in the Women in Jazz series at the nationally recognized Tri-C Jazz Fest in Cleveland, Ohio. She has made several appearances at radio 107.3 The Wave sponsored events and for the past three years she has given concerts at Cleveland's Cain Park. In January 2004, Miss Varcho was invited to perform in Cleveland State University's Sundown Jazz Concert Series and was nominated for the Cleveland Free Times' Annual Music Awards in the jazz category.
Women in jazz have contributed throughout the many eras of jazz history, both as performers and as composers, songwriters and bandleaders. While women such as Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald were famous for their jazz singing, women have achieved much less recognition for their contributions as composers, bandleaders and instrumental performers. Other notable jazz women include piano player Lil Hardin Armstrong and jazz songwriters Irene Higginbotham and Dorothy Fields.
