Roger Hodgson Pays Tribute to Rick Davies: “Before he left us, we made peace”
The music world is mourning the loss of Rick Davies, Supertramp’s co-founder and keyboardist, who passed away on September 6, 2025, at the age of 81. Among those paying tribute was Roger Hodgson, the band’s former vocalist and songwriter, who shared an emotional message honoring his longtime collaborator. Hodgson reflected on their complicated history, acknowledging the tension that followed his departure from Supertramp in 1983. For years, the two rarely spoke, and fans often believed their friendship had been broken beyond repair. However, Hodgson revealed that in recent years they had reconnected. “Many people know that Rick and I had our differences. But before he left us, we made peace. We spoke again, we remembered the old days, and we laughed like we used to. That’s a gift I’ll always cherish,” he said.
