Legendary Chicano rapper Mr. Shadow graces our show to share the story of his journey from the west side of San Diego to becoming a pivotal figure in the music industry. Mr. Shadow opens up about his early life in Waptown, the impact of gentrification on his family, and the inspiration drawn from his late brother Night Owl. By age 16, his breakout hit "Till I Die" thrust him into the spotlight, thanks to the keen ear of Z90's Lisa Vasquez. She not only gave his music the airplay it needed but also christened him with the stage name that would become iconic. Embark on a nostalgic trip through Mr. Shadow's career as he recounts the excitement of his early tours and the unforgettable moment his song hit the airwaves. Anticipation builds for his upcoming album "I'm Done, Bring it Back," featuring collaborations with legends like Ice Cube and B-Real.
