Lynn Anderson "Midnight Train To Georgia"
I was pretty surprised to hear of Lynn's recent passing at the age of 67. While I've never been a huge follower of her career, her prolific output and long chart reign (1966-1989) showed her impressive talent. Folks who just know her for "Rose Garden" are missing out! This 1982 album ("Memories And Desires") is largely disposable since it is mostly re-records, but her take on this Jim Weatherly-penned classic is well worth a listen, and was also released as a single which didn't chart. She also charted five number one and 18 top-ten singles on the Billboard country songs chart. Anderson is regarded as one of country music's most significant performers.
