Here is a very special 22" Zildjian K. Istanbul ride cymbal! This ride weighs in at 2471 grams and has a rich history that has been preserved in its physical and sonic characteristics with age. It is a prime example of the quintessential 22" K. Istanbul ride sound so many of us strive to achieve in our setups. There are no cracks in this cymbal - just a small amount of keyholing at the bell, as well as one of the three rivet holes. Both of these are purely cosmetic at this point, and can be seen up close in our pictures. Steve's notes: The video will explain in more detail, but this was one of John Guerin's main cymbals from his "jazz set" of cymbals. John was a great player and did a ton of studio work, and, he played on Joni Mitchell's ground breaking album "Court and Spark", among others. I can't verify that this was used on any of Joni's albums, and I spent time listening to the tracks to try to zero in on it. But, as we all know, it is almost impossible to verify this with any real accuracy. John's touch, his stick choice, and how the cymbal was recorded are all key factors that make it hard to verify. John is no longer with us, and my friend who acquired this cymbal from him has also passed, so we are selling it for my friend's family. We've priced it as we would for a wonderful 22" K. Istanbul, with no premium for John's ownership. So, grab this while you can. It is a great and versatile K. It has a great stick sound and also nice wash and a very nice bell.
