He is an award winning Music Producer and Sound Engineer from India. he was here for the event.Paban Das Baul belongs to the ‘Baul’ tradition of Indian folk singers and has been based in Paris for the last three decades. He collaborates with musicians from around the world and has developed a new genre of Baul music called ‘Afro-Baul’.Among others, Paban Das Baul was accompanied by Mimlu Sen, author of the highly acclaimed book on Bauls titled ‘Baulsphere’. While Paban Das spoke in Bangla, Mimlu translated the essence of each song for the English speaking audiences.Prithwiraj Choudhury is an assistant professor at the Harvard Business School and singer, songwriter, and poet.He has performed at more than 50 concerts all over the world. His first album was launched by HMV Saregama and his first solo album is being launched by Inreco in December, 2014.The concert was a fabulous production that touched hearts of all those who braved the brutal weather on the evening of November 2nd evening to walk to the beautiful Harvard Memorial Church.
Paban Das Baul is a noted Baul singer and musician from India, who also plays a dubki, a small tambourine and sometimes an ektara as an accompaniment. He is known for pioneering traditional Baul music on the international music scene and for establishing a genre of folk-fusion music.
