Freda Payne (@iamfredapayne) joins Michael Boswell for a conversation in which they discuss a wide array of topics, including growing up in Detroit, going to school with Lamont Dozier and singing with Duke Ellington and Pearl Bailey when she was just 17. Freda tells the story behind "Band Of Gold", her latest albums and her memoir "Band Of Gold". Freda is probably the only person to have performed on both the Ted Mack Amateur Hour and American Idol, as well as the only one to have been in movies with Jerry Lewis and Eddie Murphy.
