"King of the World" - Steely Dan Drum Cover
This is "King of the World," off of Steely Dan's second studio album, Countdown to Ecstasy. Released in 1973, the album featured American drummer Jim Hodder behind the kit. It's a neat rock tune with a jazzy feel and a lot of room to improvise fills. The main draw for me to this song is the snare work with the left hand during the verses (lots of drags and syncopation). Recording and editing was once again handled by the wonderful Mark Mircic, who has his own channel at: https://www.youtube.com/user/ShMaRk009. If you like video games and you like music, go check him out! He's got jazz arrangements of video game songs, with some original content on the way.
