One thing in Jazz,I never know what is going to happen.During my drum solo in my full suit and tie,the amazing John Lamb on bass, who played with Duke Ellington in the 60`s,wanted me to play his bass. This very bass he played was the one he used with Duke Ellington. He just walked over to me and pointed for me to play his bass. Of course it was an honor for me to play on the very bass that he used for Duke Ellington. I had no idea he was going to do this. So I just did my thing as John worked on the finger board of the bass. Juust another great moment to remember. The song we played is Seven Steps To Heaven by Miles Davis. I was using my vintage Slingerland drums that I bought at Sam Ash music in NYC back in 1970. Playing the tenor sax is Franco Marino with Tony Castellano on piano. This was from my concert at the Firehouse Cultural Center in Ruskin ,Florida. For my bio and concert dates,go to kenloomer.com. Ken Loomer-Leader & Drummer
