This Cleveland area band brings a hard melodic groove to the forefront of the music scene and shreds like no other. Formed in 1998, Funny blew up the local music scenes, opening doors for other up and coming acts. Comprised of five members, whose influences span from all different musical genres, Funny's grooves will move you from all angles...grooves that capture you and melodies that sedate you. With inconceivable off time rhythm and impeccable percussion, it's funny how one manages to survive such a musical thrashing. In May of 1999, Funny released their self-titled ep that sold out in less than six months. There are now over 5000 copies in circulation. This has been made possible by acquiring the support of "Funny Fans", through the playing of countless shows and any other methods of spreading their music to create that buzz! Their inner energy stems from both the crowd and each other. Original? These guys definitely have a distinct sound of their own. In the meantime, Funny continues to explore and experiment with new musical sounds and styles. This is evident in the new material they have been writing and recording for their full length CD to be released this year. Funny took a big step forward when they had the opportunity to play with national acts such as: A Perfect Circle, Soulfly, Primer 55, Downset, Chevelle, Slaves on Dope, Lamb of God, Amen and Gwar; in which they gathered thousands of new fans. With these events under their belt, consistent merchandise sales and plenty of hard work, Funny is progressively moving forward and ready to take the next big step.
