Hamer Drawing Cubism Shading demo
Graphite, H, B and Ebony drawing pencils Practice shading. Pick a topic. Draw three organic shapes or fish on your paper circling towards the center of the paper. This creates radial balance. Split up your paper into multiple sections using a ruler. You will shade the fish from dark to light value to create an illusion of a real fish through dark and light value. In each section you have drawn on your paper use your pencil to shade from dark to light value by increasing or decreasing the amount of pressure you are applying to the paper. Darker value: use a B pencil and more pressure drawing with the side of your pencil. To create lighter value use an H pencil and shade with less pressure. Every section should be shaded using a gradation of dark to light value. How dark can you shade using your pencil? #2 pencil or drawing pencil? Practice in your sketchbook first.
