Behind the Scenes with Boy and Bear

Boy and Bear are a five time ARIA Award winning Australian rock band based in Sydney. They describe their music as “a combination of drivey indie folk and choral harmonies”. In 2013 Boy and Bear were again nominated for three ARIA Awards including Best Group, Best Rock Album and Producer Of The Year. The objective of the photographic campaign was to present Boy and Bear in a contemporary and dynamic way through imagery. The shoot needed to take place over two days and was required to produce a range of styles with enough variation to allow the images to be used over a 12 month period. A series of images were planned and shot at many different locations between Newcastle and Sydney. Each image needed to capture a different tone, look and feel in order to provide a variety of options to journalistic publications across print and digital mediums.
