Standing In Your Stuff by Zigaboo Modeliste Expert Regular Drums 100% FC

I've had this video unlisted since October of 2023. My initial plan was to make this into a video essay, but that never came to fruition. Instead of keeping this one unlisted forever, I think it's time to make it public. If you're curious at all about the history of this song, why it was unFCd on regular drums, and how I managed to do it, keep reading. Be prepared for a big description, though. There's a lot to cover. Also, a while back, I uploaded a video of me FCing Standing in Your Stuff, but using an absurd video calibration that visually skipped the game 5 minutes into the song, and finished the song before the broken note appeared. I'm keeping that video unlisted now, but here's that link for the memes: https://youtu.be/w5H_cSU02Us A little bit of backstory for those not in the know - this song is infamous for being the only unFCable chart ever officially released on regular drums in Rock Band. It has an impossible double snare note at 2:38. The second note of the two doesn't have a working frame to hit. Its been tested with pause abusing and playing the double note as slow as 10% speed, and it still doesn't work. There was no possible way to hit this section on regular drums. The only way this chart got FC'd was by abusing the cymbal glitch on pro drums. The cymbal glitch allowed two cymbal notes charted close together to automatically hit with one input, and since the double snare note is flipped to hi-hat on pro, the note becomes possible to hit. After enough theorizing with Zero and Bookreader, we discovered a way to make the double snare hittable on regular drums in RB3DX. First, me and Zero discovered that when you switch the controller type to drums in RB3DX, and play this song using a guitar, the hit window is loose enough to hit the double snare. The only drawback is any notes attached to the kick pedal (in this case, "chords") couldn't be hit without playing the notes individually. So, I had an idea. What if it was possible to use a firmware on the Roll Limitless adapter that tells the game I'm on guitar, when I'm actually using my drums, and then switch the controller type back to drums in RB3DX? After poorly explaining to Bookreader my idea, he gave me a few firmwares to test. And sure enough, it actually worked. I could play the double snare using my drums, and it'd hit. The song became FCable. Now, the only problem was the "chords" bit I mentioned. Any note with a kick attached to it required hitting the notes individually, starting with the kick first. The good news is, with the hit window slightly loose now, hitting these notes individually wasn't a problem. At least, at first. I discovered that when playing a very specific fill in this song, a (RO)RR, I couldn't just play the kick first and the three snares after. I had to play a single snare, THEN the kick, and THEN the remaining two snares to hit it. This was the only possible method. Even with the loose hit window, this is a pain in the ass to play correctly. And this specific fill appeared not once, not twice, but NINETEEN times in this song - SIXTEEN times within the final minute and a bit starting at 6:10. I essentially traded a single impossible note for 19 broken notes. But, I knew this FC was now possible. So I went for it. And here we are! After a couple of sessions working on my consistency, it happened. Playing a seven minute song with kicks separated from their pad hits was very mentally taxing, especially when the majority of the hard parts are within the last minute. I had a very unfortunate choke in the final (RO)RR of the whole song, but I redeemed the FC a few tries later. Overall I'm thankful this grind was over with pretty quick. So, addressing the elephant in the room... Does this even count? Yes! ...But also no. Technically I played every single note in this drum chart using my drumset, no BS around it. But that also required remapping my controller in a way that wouldn't be possible on vanilla RB3. Controller remapping is a DX specific feature. So, for the true purists out there who wanted an unmodified FC of this chart on vanilla RB3, unfortunately this is not it. But I'm 100% confident this is the closest we will get. And I'm glad to call this run my (unofficial) 1919/1919th RBN Regular Drums FC. I gotta give a huge shoutout to Zero and Bookreader for their help making this FC happen. Without their input, this run wouldn't be possible. They're the best.
