Wat a wonderful footage: the great voice of Sista Monica Parker (Gary, Indiana (USA)1956 - 2014). A singer, and also songwriter and recordproducer who worked with the greatest: B.B. King, John Lee Hooker, Etta James, Gladys Knight, and so on! Mostly known 'cause of her Blues albums, she also was a gospel singer. A year after she passed away, she was rewarded the Blues Music Award in the 'Soul Blues Female Artist of the Year' category. A former United States marine Corps member, she started a singing career in the early nineties, encouraged by her neighbor... M.C. Hammer. "Windy City Burner" is probably her most famous song, here performed in the TROS Tv show "Sesjun" in 1998. Watch more World of Jazz videos ► https://goo.gl/Z28cxv Join us.
