SOUNDBITE (English) Corinne Bailey Rae, Recording Artist - on the 10-year anniversary of 9/11: "It''s very significant. It''s significant for me. You know I''m a widow; I lost my husband three and a half years ago. We got married on the ninth of Sept. 2001, so we both watched the events of Sept. 11 unfold on our honeymoon. We were at home and, so yeah, I think that it''s very sobering being here today and I have a lot of empathy with people who lost family and lost partners in that tragedy. A huge part of being human is losing people; for these people who lost someone it''s especially more painful because it didn''t need to happen. I was thinking about that today, ''How does that complicate their grief?'' And I haven''t watched any of the tributes today, but yeah I hope, I hope that the way in which they lost people hasn''t stopped them from processing what''s happened and moving forward and having new things develop in their lives. But yeah, I''d be interested to know." 15. The U2 frontman was joined by his band mate the Edge, Sting, Naomi Campbell and Courtney Love. Model Christy Turlington, REM''s Michael Stipe and U.K. singer Corinne Bailey Rae also attended the show. Ahead of the catwalk, Hewson talked about the importance behind presenting the new line on the 10-year anniversary of Sept. 11. "We''ve done shows on Sept. 11 before and ... we''ve always felt very keenly that it''s a tribute to those that died and lost their lives on this day," she said. "And also to the spirit of New York City and the resilience of New York City and the spirit of America that still keeps on pushing forward for a better future for everyone." Love - who sat next to Stipe - called the day "heavy." Rae, who is now a widow, married her husband two days before the terrorist attacks took place on America. "We both watched the events of Sept. 11 unfold on our honeymoon; we were at home," she recalled. Rae''s husband died from a drug overdose in 2008. She says as a result she is able to relate to those who lost loved ones on Sept. 11. "I hope that the way in which they lost people hasn''t stopped them from processing what''s happened and moving forward and having new things develop in their lives," Rae added.
