Perry Dixon Back To Georgia Blues (1929)
I do not own the copyright to this recording. This video is for historical and educational purposes Perry Dixon is one of the mysteries of prewar Texas blues. On this recording he is possibly backed by the Dallas pianist Alex Moore, and maybe by guitarist Coley Jones, who made recordings on his own and as a member of the Dallas String Band. In 1932 a singer by the name of Pere Dickson cut two songs for the Victor label backed by pianist Frank Tannehill. Some prewar blues historians believe that Dixon/Dickson was the same artist. In any case, nothing was ever heard from him again. Perry Dixon:Vocals Possibly Coley Jones:Guitar Possibly Alex Moore:Piano Recorded in Dallas, TX. Friday, December 6. 1929 Originally issued on the 1929 single (Columbia 14522-D) (78 RPM) This recording taken from the 1991 CD "Texas Piano Blues 1929-1948"
