Drummer of the legendary British disco/funk band Jamiroquai, Derrick Mckenzie has always been into rhythm, time and music. Since 1994 he and the Grammy-Award winning band have recorded many succesful albums, including: Return of th Space Cowboy, Travelling Without Moving, Synkronized, A Funk Odyssey and their newest, Automaton. At this intimate workshop, learn how one of the world's most influential and funky drummers has helped shape the acid jazz genre with a futuristic funk feel. Followed by a Q+A. Jamiroquai ( jə-MIRR-ə-kwy) are an English acid jazz and funk band from London. Formed in 1992, they are fronted by vocalist Jay Kay, and were prominent in the London-based funk and acid jazz movement of the 1990s.
