Enjoy :) --------------------------------------------------- The next morning, Meghan woke up with a huge headache, her eyes swollen from crying herself to sleep. And to top it all off she had to go to the studio to practice the duet with Nick. She dragged herself out of bed, sliding her feet on the smooth beige coloured carpet. She got dressed in a daze, wondering how she would face Nick. When she got ready she went to her queen sized bed and sat down heavily on the right side of the bed, sighing loudly. 'Why did you do that Nick?' she thought out loud, to no one in particular. She looked to her left, seeing her bedside table, reaching over and opening the first drawer. She pulled out a picture she had held there. She sighed while looking at it, reliving the incredible memories in her head. 'Whyd you change?' she whispered to the picture of her and Nick at the beach on a summer day. She placed the picture back in the chestnut coloured drawer, closing it gently. Slowly she lifted her head up, looking at the distance view that she saw through her bedroom window. She sighed heavily once again and pulled herself up. She stepped down the carpeted staircase leading into the hallway of her house. She walked into the kitchen, grabbing a snack from a cabinet, munching on it lightly as she started walking back into the hallway. She grabbed her car keys and made her way to her driving, pausing to lock the doors of her home. She got in her shiny black range rover, hearing the engine roar to life as she pulled out her driveway, avoiding the paparazzi that stood outside her main gate. A few minutes later she arrived at the studio building. She parked her car and walked into the building, followed by her body guard. She stepped into the lifts that took her to her destination. While in the lift, she turned around to look at herself in the mirror, seeing a tired person who looked unhappy and broken. She sighed as she remembered the feeling of Nicks soft luxurious lips on hers. She placed the tip of her fingers on her lips as she relived the tingling feeling she had felt. Even after all those years, his one kiss made her go crazy inside. She heard the lift sound as it stopped onto the floor of her destination. She stepped out of the lift, making her way to the studio. As she stepped in she saw Nick already there in the booth with Ben standing outside. Ben turned around when he heard me come in and I watched his face light up. "Meg, there you are, I thought youd be a no show" he chuckled watching my face with curiousness. "You know Id never let you down" I tried to smile at him but failed halfway. I walked into the booth, unable to look at Nick. As I stood in front of the microphone that Nick and I were sharing, I looked at him from the corner of my eyes and found him staring at me. "Alright Meg and Nick, start whenever youre ready." Ben stated as he spoke through the microphone. I started singing my part of the song, occasionally looking at the music sheet. As Nicks part came in on the song, I couldnt help but notice how his eyes twinkled when he sang, how his muscles flexed whenever he did a high note, how he managed to sing without looking at the music sheet. We were in the middle of the song when I noticed Nick changing the lyrics to what was originally written on the music sheet. He was supposed to sing 'I guess we were never meant to be'. But instead he changed it for it to be 'we were always meant to be'. ------------------------------------------------- sorry if its short! i'm leaving for vacations tomorrow, for two weeks so i won't be posting in those two weeks! R.E.M. was an American rock band formed in Athens, Georgia, in 1980 by drummer Bill Berry, guitarist Peter Buck, bassist Mike Mills, and lead vocalist Michael Stipe, who were students at the University of Georgia. R.E.M. was noted for Buck's arpeggiated "jangle" guitar playing; Stipe's distinctive vocal style, unique stage presence, and cryptic lyrics; Mills's countermelodic bass lines and backing vocals; and Berry's tight, economical drumming. In the early 1990s, other alternative rock acts suc...
