Richard Stephen Sambora ( sam-BORE-a; born July 11, 1959) is an American musician, songwriter and singer. He was a member of the rock band Bon Jovi from 1983 to 2013. Sambora was the band's lead guitarist; he also provided backing vocals and played a major role in the band's songwriting.
