The uncommon (or unheard of!) combination of Peter Silvester and George Green, playing at the Crown Inn, Fontmell Magna during the 1st UK Boogie Woogie Festival in July 2005. Peter is the author of the boogie woogie fans bible, "A Left Han Like God". Both Peter and George were involved in the tv programme The South Bank Show, featuring the history of boogie woogie. Peter was in the studio audience at the end of the programme where 4 players shared two pianos. George was joined by Bob Hall, Axel Zwingenberger and Big Joe Duskin. the impressive quartet were backed by Dave Green on double bass and Charlie Watts on drums. The festival initially took place in the village hall at Fontmell Magna in Dorset but eventually moved to Sturminster Newton. The festival attracted some of the finest boogie woogie pianists from the UK, Europe and America. Star performers included Little Willie Littlefield, Bob Seeley, Jean Pierre Bertrand and Axel Zwingenberger. The festival was the brainchild of pianist Julian Phillips assisted by Jo O'Connell. sadly, despite it's popularity, the festival was another victim of Covid-19 and could no longer continue.
