"I Know They're There" is the title track of the album by singer-songwriter, Steven Leibman. The self-released work was co-produced and arranged by Brett Hughes and Steven Leibman. Hughes recorded and mixed the album in Burlington, Vermont. "I Know They're There" features Brad and Andrew Barr (The Barr Brothers/Surprise Me Mr. Davis) on, respectively, electric guitar atmospherics and drums; Mark Spencer (Son Volt/Aimee Mann) electric guitars; Robinson Morse (Anais Mitchell/Michael Chorney and Hollar General Music) acoustic bass; Ray Paczkowski (Trey Anastasio Band and Vorcza) grand piano; Geoffrey Kim clarinet; Jean Bearden (802 Quartet) violin; Paul Reynolds (802 Quartet) viola; Michael Hakim cello; and Steven Leibman vocals, acoustic guitar, treated piano and toy piano. The string arrangement is by Brett Hughes. "I Know They're There" won the 2011 "Best Album of the Year" ("Times Argus"), was called a "masterpiece" and "transcendent debut" ("Seven Days"), and garnered the "Highly Recommended" rating from the Coalition of Independent Music Stores.
