Save the last dance for me - Winfried Regau - famos by The Drifters

Elsbeary Hobbs
1960s1960youtube

Clips: Steamboat Regau Winfried, "Enchanted, Verwünscht" Walt Disney Musik / Voice: Winfried Regau Song: Doc Pomus Erste Produktion: Jerry Leiber und Mike Stoller und The Drifters Doc Pomus found an old wedding card while cleaning up, which reminded him of the wedding with his wife and the wedding dance. He wrote a lyric with long lines and much text that just matched the verse. The love song is about a man's jealousy of his girl's dance partners. Although he allows her to dance with other men, he reminds her that the last dance is reserved for him and he then brings her home. There are at least 108 cover versions. Among them are Rikki Henderson (october 1960), the String-A-Longs (Januar 1961), Jerry Lee Lewis (september 1961), Buck Owens (Mai 1962), Paul Anka (september 1963), Swinging Blue Jeans (october 1964), Cliff Richard (april 1967), Ike & Tina Turner (september 1967), Billy Joe Royal (november 1967), The Cats (july 1977), Emmylou Harris (april 1979), Dolly Parton (november 1983) or Neil Diamond (october 1993). Save the Last Dance for Me experienced a later new success in the version by canadian jazz singer Michael Bublé in February 2005. Einen späteren Neuerfolg erlebte Save the Last Dance for Me in der Fassung des kanadischen Jazz-Sängers Michael Bublé im Februar 2005.

About Elsbeary Hobbs

The Drifters are an American pop and R&B/soul vocal group. They were originally formed as a backing group for Clyde McPhatter, formerly the lead tenor of Billy Ward and his Dominoes in 1953. The second group of Drifters, formed in 1959 and led by Ben E. King, were originally an up-and-coming group named the Five Crowns. After 1965, members moved between both groups, and many of these formed other groups of Drifters as well. Over the succeeding decades, several different bands, all called the Dri...
