Maurice McElroy is an English drummer who has played with a wide array of musicians and bands over his career. During the late 60’s Maurice was in soul and R&B road show band The Freddie Mac Extravaganza 2. He would play with brass rock/prog/blues outfit Swegas on the 1971 album Child of Light. During 1972 Maurice kept the beat in the Wes McGhee Band and still collaborates with Wes from time to time. Next came a stint with Derek Noy of Jan Dukes de Grey in Noy’s Band from 1974 to 1976. During much of the 80s Mr. McElroy spent time with Stephen Travers, survivor of the Miami Showband massacre in his band Craic. In the late 80’s he played with a couple of Texas artists, Kimmie Rhodes and Freddie Krc. From 1990 to 1993 Mr. McElroy was a part of Otis Grand Big Blues Band. And since the year 2000 my guest has been a member of blues band The Spikedrivers.
